Ida Mae Ingels, 89, passed away on August 23, 2025, at her residence in Geneva, Texas.

Born on June 19, 1936, in Dickens, Nebraska, Ida was the daughter of Russell and Minnie Cellan Dugan. She grew up in Nebraska alongside her siblings and later built a life rooted in hard work, family devotion, and spirited enthusiasm for the things she loved.

Ida spent much of her adult life in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she worked as a waitress and cook at East High School. Her dedication to her work and the school community left a lasting impression on those around her. She also lived in North Platte, Nebraska before settling in Geneva, Texas five years ago.

A woman of strong faith, Ida was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Gravel Hill. Her spiritual life was an important part of who she was and provided her with strength throughout her journey.

Ida had a deep love for sports-especially NASCAR and football. She cheered passionately for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Nebraska Cornhuskers and supported any team from Texas with equal fervor. Her enthusiasm for game days was infectious and brought joy to those who shared them with her. When not watching sports, she found comfort in quiet moments spent napping with her beloved little dog, Baxter.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Virginia Ingels-Rich and husband, Chuck, of Geneva; sister, Beverly Lee and husband, Don, of Madrid, Nebraska; her sister-in-law, Carolyn Wyatt of Texas; grandchildren, Amanda Beres and husband, Nicholas, of Geneva; Russell Henning and wife, Jamie, of Cheyenne; Curtis Ingels and wife, Kailynn, of Rapid City, South Dakota; Rebecca Blaton and husband, Todd, of Cheyenne; and Tiffany Lewis of Cheyenne; 17 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren with one more on the way. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including Sheryl Janas and husband, Allen, Beverly Edson and husband, Bob, Tim Dugan and Teresa Dugan along with her best friend of 71 years, Janet Razes.

Ida was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Curtis Ingels; son, Paul Ingels; granddaughter, Allysa Ingels; brothers, Leroy, Donald, Ralph, Max, and Robert; sisters, Juanita, Wynona, and Rosa; and sister-in-law, Marie Dugan.

Local arrangements were handled by Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill, Texas. Funeral services will be announced at a later time.
