She was the daughter of Thomas and Virginia Ray; the granddaughter of E.R. and Ida Brown of North Carolina and the granddaughter of Ulysses and Annabel Ray of Kentucky. She was predeceased by her parents, grandparents, and husband, John McIntyre, and a brother, Thomas E. Ray.
She graduated from Elise High School and Meredith College. She taught high school English in Raleigh. Later she taught middle school English for many years in Horry County.
She is survived by two sons, John A. McIntyre and his daughter, Annabel Jane McIntyre: Ray McIntyre, and his children William Ray McIntyre and Callie Renee McIntyre.
Memorial Services were held at Socastee United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 11:00 AM.
Graveside Memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Socastee United Methodist Church or to the Myrtle Beach Humane Society.
Kennedy Funeral Home is serving the McIntyre family.
