IdaMae Walsh (née Roehm), of Blue Island, IL, passed from this life peacefully and surrounded by the love of her family, on July 29, 2025, at the age of 100.

IdaMae was born on May 12, 1925 to the late John and the late Gertrude Roehm in Harvey, IL. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Daniel M. Walsh, who passed away in 1996. The couple was just one week shy of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary at the time of his passing.

IdaMae is the cherished mother of Randy (the late Linda) and Pamela, the beloved grandmother of Eric (Melissa) and Ryan (Jillian), and the proud great-grandmother of Calin, Oliver, Benedict, Siobhan, and Nicholas. She is a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and leaves behind family and dear friends who will always hold her memory close.

IdaMae found joy in nature and beauty. She was an avid rose gardener, with a special love for flower gardens. She cherished getting away from the Midwest winters enjoying Maui's peace, sunshine, and her daily walks along the beautiful beaches.

IdaMae was also dedicated to serving others; she was a lifelong member of the St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary, where she volunteered for many years. A woman of strong faith, IdaMae was a longtime member of St. Philip Lutheran Church in Blue Island, and later joined Redeemer Lutheran Church in Oak Forest, where she continued to worship and contribute to the community.

The funeral for IdaMae will take place at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 4955 W. 158th St., Oak Forest, IL on Saturday, August 2nd. IdaMae will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Chicago will follow after the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in IdaMae's memory to either:
