Ignacio "Nacho" Ramos Jr., 87, of
Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on December 14, 2025. He was born on December 5, 1938, in Hebbronville to Ignacio Ramos and Ausencia Montalvo Ramos.
Nacho pursued higher education at Texas College of Arts and Industries where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education. He received a Master's degree in Counseling from Texas A&I University and a second Master's degree in Mid-Management in Education from Corpus Christi State University. His dedication to education and guidance shaped the lives of many students and colleagues throughout his career. Beyond his professional life, Nacho found joy in oil painting, fishing and watching the Dallas Cowboys play on Sundays. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus as a 3rd degree and 4th Degree Knight and served over 20 years as Financial Secretary for Assembly 1097 at St. Philip's Catholic Church, where his commitment and leadership left a lasting impact on his parish and community. Nacho and his wife were parishioners for over 40 years at St. Philip's going back to the Parish's establishment at the Corpus Christi Minor Seminary.
Nacho was preceded in death by his parents, Ignacio Ramos and Ausencia Montalvo Ramos, and brother, Rodolfo E. Ramos. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lydia Hinojosa Ramos; his son Roberto I. Ramos and wife Valorie; his daughter Leia Rogers and husband William; his brother Alfonso Ramos and wife Evanita; his sisters-in-law Diana Ramos, Maria Elia Hinojosa and Elva Tamez; and his four cherished grandchildren, Isabella and Mia Rogers, and Katharine and Anton Ramos. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins, all of whom will carry forward his memory with love.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at St. Philip's Catholic Church in
Corpus Christi, Texas. The Rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. A reception will take place immediately after Mass.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church.
