Kings Mountain: Ila VanDyke Leonhart, born on January 27, 1928, in Cleveland County, North Carolina, completed her earthly journey in her hometown on July 11, 2025, at the age of 97.
Ila was a devoted homemaker and the owner of a cherished general store, where she spent many years serving her community with dedication and warmth. Her life was marked by her unwavering commitment to her family and her work.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim VanDyke and Lether Smith, her beloved husband, Ben Dalton Leonhart, as well as all of her siblings and extended family.
Ila leaves behind her son, Leland Blake Leonhart of Kings Mountain, who will carry forward her legacy and the cherished memories they shared.
Ila's life was a testament to love, hard work, and resilience. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
