Illomene Massillon, 91, of San Rafael CA], passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Illomene was born on January 16, 1934, in Haiti. She was the proud mother of Myrtha, Marie, Joseph, and Alberta. After raising her children in Haiti, Illomene made the brave and life-changing journey to the United States, where she was joyfully reunited with her children and was able to enjoy a long and meaningful life with them. Illomene, known lovingly as "Illo," was a mother, sister, aunt, and a beloved grandmother. She was known for her radiant smile and the warmth she brought to everyone she met. Illo had a deep love for her family and cherished the time spent watching TV shows and movie marathons together. In her early years, Illomene was a dependable and loyal friend, caregiver, and confidant to those around her. She watched her children grow, cared for her grandchildren, and built deep connections with her extended family in Haiti. Despite the distance, Illo always made it a point to stay in contact with her family back home, offering help whenever she could. A hard worker throughout her life, Illo was determined to make a better life for herself and her family. Her dedication was evident when she worked tirelessly to become a citizen of the United States, a goal she proudly accomplished. Illo's strength, courage, and perseverance were a testament to the incredible woman she was. Illomene was deeply religious, practicing Catholicism wholeheartedly. She attended church every Sunday, beautifully dressed, and always prayed for everyone she loved. When she could no longer attend in person, Illo continued to watch mass on television and joyfully sang along to the hymns she cherished. Illomene's legacy of love, kindness, and nurturing has been instilled in her children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate to know her. Her memory will live on in our hearts forever, and her radiant smile will never be forgotten
