Imogene Strong Obituary
Imogene was born on March 9, 1929 in Harlan, KY, to her parents, Bleve and Ethel (Walden) Eaton. She retired from Hawkins County Schools in the Volunteer High School cafeteria after 20 years of service at the age of 72.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Strong; sisters, Dorothy Lee, and Mary Perry; special niece, Sharon Hafer; and her grandson, Jamie Webb.
Imogene is survived by her daughters, Pat Fields, and Brenda Shaffer; grandchildren, Angie Catron, Tammy Mullins (Lewis), Michael Webb (Sarah), Blue Hall (Kim), Toby Shaffer, Kade Smith (Abby); great grandchildren, Cameron Catron, Caleb Webb (Alex), Hunter Webb (Kelsey), Nathanael Mullins, Shawn Shaffer, Peyton Shaffer, Hudson Webb, Isabella Hall, Ava Hall, Olivia Hall, Karson Smith and one the way, Stella Smith; 5 great great grandchildren; sister, Betty Buckler; brother, Bobby Eaton (Barbara); special niece, Peggy Walters; as well as several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Zachary Sumpter and his nurse Savannah, and to the Amedysis Hospice Nurses, Sara Morelock, Brittany Ford, Malika Richardson, Carina Hilton, and the entire Amedysis Hospice staff.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Brian Burchfield officiating. The family will also receive friends at Imogene's home starting Sunday, January11, 2026. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Those wishing to go to the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM to go in procession.
Serving as pallbearers will be Hunter and Caleb Webb, Kade Smith, James Sharpless, John Gray, and Chris Stelley.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Michael and Hudson Webb, Toby and Shawn Shaffer, Lewis and Nathanael Mullins, and Cameron Catron.

I am so sad that another dear family member has left us. I remember the days, when we visited Aunt Imogene and Uncle Gene. My prayers are with all the family.
