Inez J. Heldt, 91, daughter of Pete and Lottie Echevarria, passed away at home with the family by her side March 7th at 1:45 am in Meridian, Idaho. She was born July 15, 1933, in
Boise, Idaho.
She went to school in Grandview and spent summers with her parents and sister Lydia up at Big Springs sheep company. She moved to Boise in 1948 where she attended Boise High. In 1950 she married her high school sweetheart Herb Heldt. They were married for 51 years. Herb was in the Air Force and moved to San Antonio, Texas where they had their first child, Pete. In 1952, they moved back to Boise where they had two additional children, Steve and Christine.
Inez was a wonderful mother and homemaker and took care of everything and everyone. The family lived in Utah, Texas, Illinois, New Jersey, and Georgia. After Herbs passing, she moved back to Idaho in 2003 with daughter Christine.
Inez greatest loves were her family. She loved nothing more than cooking a big meal and sharing it with her family and friends. Her sense of humor, generosity, work ethic, and love for life will be with us always. She touched everyone she met in a special way, and we are all blessed for having known her.
Inez and Herb traveled overseas many times and enjoyed new places and visiting with people. Herb was in the music business, and it gave her the opportunity to meet many artists and bands which she enjoyed immensely.
Inez is a devoted Catholic and enjoyed attending mass when she was able. Her favorite hobby was collecting jewelry, and she was very good at it. She loved to laugh and have a great time. She will be missed more than anything.
Inez is survived by her three children Pete Heldt of Gulf Breeze, FL, Steve Heldt and Mary of Minnestrista, MN, and Christine Heldt of Meridian, ID; grandsons Peter Heldt and Lindsay of Gulf Breeze, FL and Dale Heldt of Plymouth, MN; two great-grandchildren Avery and Christopher of Gulf Breeze, FL; one nephew Monte Duncan and Darcy; and many cousins.
