Ira M. Meadows, age 81, of Peytona, West Virginia, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born in Racine, West Virginia, on April 22, 1940, to Ira F. and Virginia (Bias) Meadows. He graduated from Greenfield High School in 1958. Mr. Meadows served in the Air Force for 8 years.
Ira was a barber for 45 years, owning the Barber Pole in Cumberland, Indiana, and later in Murphy, North Carolina. He enjoyed playing golf, watching Notre Dame football, spending time with family, and watching old westerns.
He is survived by his son, Jeff (Mary) Meadows of New Palestine; daughter Kelly (Tim) Allen of New Palestine; brother, Harold (Jackie) Meadows; sister Jo (Bud) Bullock; grandchildren, Damon Collins, Jacob Collins, Lauren Meadows, Mackenzie Meadows; and great-grandchildren Hayden and Gavin Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Brenda Meadows; daughter Jinny Meadows; and sister Janet Riddle.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary and Crematory, 1484 W. US HWY. 40, Greenfield, Indiana. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.

I knew Ira had moved but didnt know he had passed. I played golf on occasion with Ira at Chatuge Shores in Hayesville, NC . He also cut my hair on occasion. Good memories. thanks for letting me share.
