GREENFIELD – Robert E. Leonard, age 95, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, August 15, 2025, at Hancock Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Mohawk, Indiana on October 8, 1929 to Arthur Earl Leonard and Estella Mae (Niccum) Wickliff. He graduated from Greenfield High School in 1947. He married Mariann (Trennepohl) Leonard on July 1, 1949. He was employed as a truck driver for several companies for 31 years. He then worked for Greenfield Central schools in maintenance for several years, was employed with True Value, and finished his working career with Gray Auto retiring in 2021 at the age of 91. Mr. Leonard was a member of Mt. Lebanon Community Church and was a third-degree Master Mason. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, was a gunsmith and loved spending time with his family. Robert is survived by his daughters, Becky Fawver and Nancy (Bob) Wampler of Greenfield; step-children, John (Ann) McKee of New Whiteland, and Janet (Ron) Hare of New Palestine; six grandchildren, Toni Fawver (Don) Jones, Aaron (Kristi) Fawver, Ryan (Holly) Chappell, Nicholas (Brittany) Chappell, Kolby Hunt, and Corey (Lauren) Hunt; Brother, Gerald (Susan) Leonard; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a step-grandson; 6 step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mariann Leonard; second wife, Mary McKee Leonard; daughter, Gayle Hunt; son-in-law, Vern Fawver; son-in-law, Tom Hunt; and sister, Earla Ertel. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A masonic service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow. Pastor Amanda Blue will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to Mt. Lebanon Community Church, 3447 S. State Road 9, Greenfield, IN 46140, or envelopes will be available at the mortuary. Friends may share a memory or condolence at www.erleweinmortuary.com.
