Iranelle Woullard, was born on October 03, 1953, to the union of the late Joe Woullard Sr., and Azzie Lee Woullard of Hattiesburg, MS. Iranelle, 71, of Biloxi, MS, departed this life on Sunday, January 12, 2025, following a terminal illness.
Iranelle attended Earl Travillion Attendance Center in Hattiesburg, MS, and was among the first Blacks to attend and graduate from Petal High School, with honors, in Petal, MS. Iranelle graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi on a full four-year academic scholarship in English and Speech Education. Iranelle taught school at various locations in MS, including Biloxi High School, Gulfport High School, and Harrison Central High School. Following a distinguished career as an educator, Iranelle retired and resided in Biloxi.
Iranelle was baptized at Priest Creek MB Church at an early age and later in life converted to Catholicism, where she attended St Peter's Catholic Church in Pascagoula, MS, St James Catholic Church in Gulfport, MS, and Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Biloxi, MS. Iranelle was married to Lester J. Fisher for 18 years, and from this union two beautiful and dedicated daughters were born, Lori J. Fisher and Sherra Fisher Dedeaux.
Iranelle is preceded in death by her devoted father, Joe Woullard Sr., and her sister, Vivian Woullard Brown, both of Hattiesburg, MS.
Iranelle leaves to cherish fond memories of her: her mother, Azzie Lee Woullard of Hattiesburg, MS; her daughters,, Lori J. Fisher of Richmond, TX, and Sherra Fisher Dedeaux (the late Alan Dedeaux) of Pass Christian, MS; four brothers, Joe (Rosemary) Woullard Jr. and Ronnie (Leona) Woullard, both of Hattiesburg, MS; Dennis (Celeste) Woullard of Gulfport, MS; Jesse Woullard of St. Paul, MN; two sisters Martha Woullard (James) Cooley of Frisco, TX, and Angela Woullard of Hattiesburg, MS. Iranelle also leaves her most precious and amazing nine grandchildren: Shalynn, Claire, Clarence, Christopher, Alyssa, Emily, Olivia, Sarah, Andrew and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
