Irene C. Arena, 84, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hospice Unit, Salisbury Twp. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Diane (Scott) Clay and Stepdaughter of Joel Clay. She was of the Catholic faith. Before retiring, she worked 20 years in 5 World Trade Center for Credit Suisse First Boston, where she cancelled and corrected financial trades since the early 1980's. She worked there until 9/11.
She spent many years traveling to Aruba with her closest friends every November. She also loved Las Vegas, especially seeing Celine Dion in concert. Irene moved to Allentown in 2004 to be closer to her Grandchildren. Spending time with her family was her favorite thing to do. Walks in Trexler Park and the Rose Garden were also enjoyable, she loved nature. Irene loved watching "The Today Show" at 10am. She rarely missed a show. She would never turn down a salt bagel with cream cheese, a cup of hot coffee or french fries.
Survivors: daughters Kimberly, wife of Thomas Roth of Allentown, Kyra Arena of Northern CA; twin granddaughters Allison and Hillary Roth; stepdaughters Flavia Arena and Pamela Ferrante of NYC. She was predeceased by a brother Joel Clay.
