Irene Edmundson, 55 of Panama City Beach, Florida concluded her earthly journey Monday, September 1, 2025.
Irene was born December 18, 1969 in Dunoon, Scotland, U.K.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Russell and her father, George Russell.
After completing her schooling, Irene worked alongside her family at a local ceramics manufacturing plant. She met the love of her life and they married in 1991. In support of his career in the United States Navy, Irene relocated to the United States, where she gracefully embraced the challenges and joys of being a Navy wife and mother.
Irene's greatest devotion was to her family. She poured her heart into raising her two daughters, encouraging them in every aspect of their lives. Though far from her own family in Scotland, Irene created a close-knit community wherever she went. Her warmth, generosity, and ability to make others feel loved turned friends into family.
Known as "Gigi" to her cherished grandchildren, Irene delighted in making every holiday and occasion special. Her pride in her family was evident to all who knew her, and her love and care touched countless lives.
Irene will be remembered for her steadfast support, her nurturing spirit, and her unwavering love for her family.
She is survived by her husband of thirty-three years, Broderick Edmundson, her daughters, Candice Edmundson and Dana Edmundson, her grandchildren, Mia Ray and Preston Ray; sister, Barbara Gray and husband, Kevin Gray, Margaret Cox, Elizabeth Crosbie and her husband Graham Crosbie, sister-in-law, Constance Cannon, and brother-in-law, Brandon Williams. Irene also leaves behind, her nieces, Laura Stevenson, Michelle Allison, Kirsty Barker, Mercedes Dickinson, Jahshona Williams, and nephews, Christopher Gray, Andrew Cox and Gregory Dickinson and Rashad Williams.
A celebration of Irene's life will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Kent- Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Michael Bryan officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at the funeral home.
