Irene Gilbert, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024, in Bethlehem, at the age of 82. Born on September 12, 1941, in Easton, PA, Irene was the beloved daughter of the late Jewel Gilbert and Emma Lee Berry. Her warm spirit and creative soul will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
Irene was a proud graduate of Easton High School, class of 1959, and she carried her passion for learning and art into her adult life, earning a bachelor's degree from Moore College of Art. Her flair for beauty and expression flourished in her career as a fashion designer and artist.
Throughout her life, Irene was a beacon of creativity and joy. Her love for poetry and music was only surpassed by the pleasure she found in tending to her garden, a place of tranquility and beauty that reflected her inner grace. Irene's artistic touch was evident in everything she did and was an inspiration to those around her.
Family was the cornerstone of Irene's life. She is survived by her devoted son, Bruce Gilbert, and his wife, Gina; her loving sister, Thelma Gilbert; and her adoring grandchildren, Kyle, Taryn, Tasia, Jewelia, Teara, Jewel, Jorne, and Xavier. Irene was also a doting great-grandmother to NiyaLee, Cana, and Jaiven. She was preceded in death by her son, Majuda Albert.
Services: A Funeral Mass will be held privately at the convenience of the family at Holy Ghost Church, Bethlehem. Irene's arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
