FULTONVILLE –
Irene M. Mulyca, 69, of Fultonville, passed away peacefully at her home on January 14, 2026. She bravely fought a long battle with Scleroderma, an autoimmune disease, for over 50 years but ultimately, cancer took her life.
Irene was born in Schenectady County on a small farm in Mariaville, where she grew up with her 13 siblings, who now live all over the U.S.A. She was predeceased by her parents, as well as her sister Joyce and brother Bill.
She is survived by her loving husband Bernie Mulyca and two sons, Bill and Scott (Nichole) and 2 cherished grandchildren, Ashley and Jon. Additionally, Irene is survived by her stepdaughter Melissa (Bill), stepson Mark and step-granddaughter Crystal (Steve).
Irene attended Schalmont High School and graduated from Haines High School in Haines, Alaska. Throughout her life, she lived in California, Ohio and a brief time in Colorado and Wyoming.
An avid gardener, Irene found immense joy in tending to her many flower gardens, often adding new flowering trees and plants to her collection. She had a passion for travel and embraced new adventures, having visited all 50 states and numerous countries.
Irene loved entertaining family and friends, cherishing the moments spent with her loved ones. She was a devoted member of the Charleston Christian Church.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the Charleston Christian Church, 1380 E Lykers Rd., Sprakers, NY 12166 at 11 o’clock. Interment will be privately held at the convenience of the family in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
