Irene F. Murawski, 98, of Utica and Fayetteville, NY passed away on July 25, 2025 at Community Hospital in Syracuse, NY. Irene was born on January 16, 1927 in Utica, NY, a daughter of Harold and Madeline Hand. She attended Utica schools and was later united in marriage with George Wesley Creaser.

Irene began her working career as a bookkeeper and later transitioned into customer relations, where she excelled. Later in life, she married Edwin Murawski, with whom she resided until his death in July, 1990.

Irene was a social butterfly who enjoyed the company of others and always was quick to join in family activities. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her daughter and son-in-law and traveling with them wherever they went. She was always a welcomed, loving companion.

During her late years she resided at Holiday Maple Downs, where she found painting to be something she really enjoyed, as well as her favorite game, "Bingo", and exercise class's. Also she enjoyed watching those old western movies and The Golden Girls.

Irene is survived by her daughter, Sheila A. Murad and her husband, Frederick; nephews, Richard Mrowka and family, Daniel (Annette) Hand and family; and niece, Linda (Dominick) and Colucci family. She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Hand and her sister, Elizabeth Mrowka.

Irene's family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses on 3 west and the palliative care unit at Upstate Community Hospital in Syracuse, NY for the excellent care and compassion extended to Irene and family. They also would like to thank Nancy Elijah and all the support staff at Maple Downs. Also many thanks to Dr. Ashok Patel.
