Irene Katharine Pacula, age 92, of Kalamazoo, formerly of Paw Paw, passed away on July 17, 2023. Irene was born March 23, 1931, in Chicago IL, the daughter of Matthew and Sofia Kwasniak.
Irene was a longtime member of St. Marys's Catholic Church. She enjoyed working for Paw Paw High School for 18 years.
On June 20, 1953, Irene married Joseph Pacula who preceded her in death September 10, 1989.
She is survived by her two daughters, Angela (Bob) Crocker of Plainwell MI, Susan (Jim) Olsen of Catawba Island OH; two sons, Richard of Fort Wayne IN and Joseph (Caroline) of San Francisco, CA; eight grandchildren, Amber Crocker, RJ (Krissy) Crocker, Kristen (Kevin) Doyle, James Olsen, Jr., Sydney (Keith) Pacula Owen, Spencer (Alexa) Pacula, Bryce Pacula and Jack Pacula; six great-grandchildren, Zachery Zdzinicki, Nicholaus Zdzinicki, Mykenzie Crocker, Lucas Crocker, Rowan Pacula and Andi Pacula. In addition to her husband, Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her son Victor Pacula, and her siblings, Berniece, John, Ben, Eleanor and Adele.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, July 21, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw. Mass of Christian burial will follow on Saturday, July 22 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paw Paw, with Rev. Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Centrica Care Hospice, 7100 Stadium Drive, Kalamazoo MI 49009.
