Irene Schultz Obituary

LIMA -- Irene M. Schultz, 84, passed away at 6:14 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Mercy Health St. Rita's.

Irene was born on February 18, 1941, in Duquesne, PA, to the late Joseph and Mary (Pristas) Havrilla. On October 27, 1962, she married her beloved George Francis Schultz, who preceded her in death on August 1, 1998.

She was a registered nurse for almost 50 years. She traveled a lot and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends when not working.

Irene is survived by her son, Jeffrey Schultz; daughters, Cheryl (David) Virostek and Dana (Joe) Mangas; grandchildren: Alex Schultz, Katelyn Roy, Madeline Snyder, and George Mangas; and three great-granddaughters.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will begin at 1p.m. Burial will be at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Hospice.
