Frost Middle School Friends
Irene was one of the kindest and gentlest people you could ever hope to meet. She spoke with such pride and love for her family. Our sympathies go out to Ed, Jeanne, Eddie (as Irene called him), and all the family. - Jim Andrukonis
I´m so saddened by this news. Irene was a kind and warm person and an excellent teacher. - Patti White Welch
Oh goodness, this is so sad....I remember her from my first years at Frost. Such a lovely person. - Michelle Sheble Capozzoli

I am so sorry to hear of Irene´s passing. She was a very sweet woman. She often ate lunch with the "lunch bunch ". She was a regular at our annual back to school luncheons, I will miss her. Condolences go to her family and friends. - Cathy Faraj
This is such sad news. Irene was incredibly kind to me when I first moved to Virginia and started at Frost in fall 1998. She introduced me to her daughter, Jean, who became my first VA friend and we lived together for one year. She was a wonderful person and incredibly talented educator. She will be missed. - Lynne Guadagnino Bursch
I´m so sad to hear this news. She was so kind to me, mentoring me when I first started at Frost. -Chris Cashman
I am in complete shock . She was so young at heart; always ready for a new adventure with a smile on her face. As a new teacher to Frost, she invited me to join her lunch group and made me feel at home right away. This news makes me so very sad. Frances Lawrence
My memories echo Lynne's. Irene shared her classroom with me during my first year at Frost. In January of 1998 (in my first few weeks on the job at age 22), I overzealously detached the top of her lectern from its base when I was trying to demonstrate the difference between an independent and a dependent clause to my English class. Irene was a gracious, patient host of this absolutely green (and possibly feral) young educator. I will always think of her fondly. Sending much love to her family and friends-especially all of my Frosties. - Renee Kingan
Irene had the kind of personality that you want to have on your staff....she made everyone feel welcome and supported. I'm so sorry to hear that she ia gone too soon. - Jennifer Schwabline Eakin
Over the years I had many 25 minute lunches with her. Her love of her family always came through. If I´m not mistaken, her Latin students at Frost and WTW went on to win several national competitive awards. - Mike Trone
Oh no, I am so sorry to hear this! Her classroom was right across from mine. She was such a wonderful teacher. - Deb Metzker
I am very sorry to hear this, too. She was a wonderful person. - Meg McLane
This is such sad news. Irene was kind, funny, and talented, and a good friend and colleague. - Theresa Fitch
