Martinsville - Iris Ann Allen, 94, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at her home in Martinsville, Indiana, while receiving the loving care of her daughters.

Iris was born on the family farm to Paul and Grace (Gould) Schaeffer on Saturday, February 28, 1931, in Fremont, Indiana. She married Franklin Marshall Allen on September 4, 1954. He preceded her in death on January 12, 2004.

Iris was a 1949 graduate of Fremont High School in Fremont, Indiana. She received her nursing training from Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana, earning her R.N. diploma on September 3, 1954. Iris was a longtime member of the First Methodist Church in Martinsville. She also attended Brooklyn Christian Church in her later years. She will be missed by many family members and friends including her beloved dog, Annie.

She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Sue Cline (David) of Saginaw, Michigan, Melissa Fay Foley (Randy) of Martinsville, Jennifer Ann Jones of Martinsville, Melody Lynn Allen of Martinsville and Carla Kay Monical of Mooresville; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; sister, Rosalynn Anderson of Lake Placid, Florida; cousin, CoraVee Caswell of Fremont.

Iris was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Grace; brothers, Conrad Schaeffer, Larry Schaeffer; sisters, Mavis Church, Arlene Lytel.

Friends and relatives are invited to join Iris' daughters as they celebrate her life. Services are Saturday, January 31, 2026, at First Methodist Church, 3150 Myra Lane, Martinsville, Indiana with Pastors Kurt Church, Doug Burns and Chris Klingenfus officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will conclude at 10:50 a.m. with a Nightingale Tribute presented by a Nurse Honor Guard. Celebration of Life service will begin at 11:00 a.m.

Entombment will be at Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery in Martinsville at a later date.
