Iris Florence "Strawberry Shortcake" Pruitt

Iris Florence Pruitt (66), also known as "Strawberry Shortcake", was born March 21, 1959 and raised in Newark, NJ. She was born to the Late Jimmy and Velma Pruitt. Iris attended schools in the East Orange School District.
Iris had a genuine Love for God and often recited Biblical scriptures. She attended the Christian Community Church. In 2017 until her passing, she daily attended the Good Life Day Care Center in Newark, NJ where she met many loving and caring friends.
Iris was gifted with her hands. She made beautiful knitting and crochet items in her spare time, she shared with friends and relatives. Iris loved her family and would often check on everyone.
Iris was predeceased by her parents Jimmy and Velma Saffold –Pruitt; her siblings Pamela Robinson and Lisa Pruitt; and two special aunts Violet Graham and Ethel Richardson.
Iris will be missed by her husband Bobby Sloan of East Orange, NJ; her loving son Jason Pruitt of Winston-Salem, NC; her niece Winnie Pruitt of Virginia; an aunt Doris Wright-Saffold of W. Palm Beach, FL; her special and dear cousins Shirley Saffold of W. Palm Beach, FL, Delores Walker of Riviera Beach, FL, Regina Saffold Warren of Compton, CA; along with host of loving cousins Pruitt and Saffold families; extended family the Crawfords; and many friends.
