Went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at the age of 64. Born on February 15, 1961 to Tomas and Maria (Franco-Hernandez) Bermudez in San Antonio, Texas. She was a loving and courageous woman whose presence brightened the lives of those around her. Irma had previously worked for General Motors, and later worked in the fields as a migrant worker. Her work ethic, a staple of her upbringing. She was a determined woman, unafraid of challenges, and known to always speak her mind. She found joy in her hobbies, especially cooking, and proudly started her food truck in Florida, where she served her favorite Mexican dishes to the delight of many festivals and concerts in the area. Irma also had a great passion for music and especially enjoyed her Mexican music. She was clean and tidy, and fond of traveling, and had a special place in her heart for Florida. Irma was known to enjoy a visit to the casino, often quite lucky with her beloved slot machines. Yet, what mattered most to Irma was her family. Her stubborn love for them knew no bounds and was the cornerstone of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Lorenzo Jimenez-Guillen; children, Jose (Marisa) Presas, Victoria Jimenez; grandchildren, Rudy Carreno-Jimenez, Andrew Carreno-Jimenez, Elyse Castrejon-Jimenez, Jayden Castrejon, Jaylah Castrejon, Adriana (Valencia Lagunes) Presas, Arriel Presas, Antonio Leija-Navarro, Gabriella Presas, Isabella Presas; sisters, Irene Courtwright, Elva F. Medrano, Rosa M. Bermudez; brother, Venino Bermudez as well as many nieces and nephews. Irma was preceded in death by her brother, Juan Bermudez, and her parents, Tomas and Maria Bermudez.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. at Skinner Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel. A Rosary prayer will begin at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Visitation will carry over to Wednesday from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at Cristo Rey Church in Lansing. Funeral Mass will be start at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the church with Fr.
