Irving Whicker Obituary

Mr. Irving C. Whicker, Jr., 82, of Bybee, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center.
Irving was born in Madison County, on March 15, 1942, the son of the late Irving Sr. & Lula James Whicker. He was a life-long mechanic working in the service department at Walmart, as well as Sears in Lexington. Irving was a dedicated community member always looking for ways to help others or be involved in ways to strengthen Madison County. He loved wildlife and spending time in the great outdoors as well as classic cars.
On July 27, 1968, he married Faye Rose and for the last 56 years they have shared life, made memories and raised their family.
In addition to his wife Faye Whicker; he is survived by: one daughter, Teresa Dawn "Terri" Atherton (Dennis); his niece and nephew, Robin Lakes Gambrel (Boyd), and Rodrick Shane Lakes (Gina); one brother-in-law, Dale Lakes; two grandchildren, Derek Kelley (Brittany) and Ashley Baker (Justin); as well as many other extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: two sisters, Frances Carol Cain, and Emma Chyrell Whicker Lakes.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, with Bro. Sidney Sparks and Bro. Mitchell Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Monday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Shane Lakes, Phillip Newcom, Dan Lewis, Brian Yates, Derrick Yates, and Jonathan Webb.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dale Yates, Dale Lakes, Danny Click and Bill Tate.

I have so many memories with him. He will be missed. My favorite memory of him is him saying I don´t like you but I sure do love u a lot.
