Isaac F. Gil

Isaac F. Gil, a resident of Des Plaines for over 50 years, passed away September 21, 2025 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of 63 years to Irma L. (nee Velarde); loving father of Leticia (Bob) Gunn, James (Sheila), and Joseph (Amber) Gil; proud grandfather of Amanda, Calvin, Taylor Gunn, Austin, Nicholas, Madalynn Gil, Isabel and Santi Gil; dear brother of ten. Isaac was born December 3, 1936 in Michoacán, Mexico to the late Isaac and Ana (nee Franco) Gil. He made a career working for the railroad. He was a foreman and inspector for over 40 years, and never missed a day of work. In his spare time, and after retirement, he loved working in his garden and spending time at his barbershop in Chicago. Isaac was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His family was his whole world.

A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 4:00 pm until prayers at 7:00 pm at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines. Memorial Mass will be held Friday, October 3, 2025 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 434 W Park St, Arlington Heights.
