Isaac Mears Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holloway Funeral Home - Salisbury on Aug. 17, 2024.
Isaac (Ronnie) Mears passed away on August 15, 2024 in Virginia. Ronnie was born on June 11, 1949, in Nassawadox, Virginia, to Isaac and Hattie Mears.
He ran track and field in high school. Ronnie graduated from Northampton High School and shortly after, he was drafted into the army. He enjoyed lifting weights with his brother, David. He had a very deep love of the Lord, and hoped he would one day be a minister. But that was not what the Lord had planned for him. He spent many years delivering mail and ministering to the people on his route. He would share bible verses and his love for the Lord. Every year he received many gifts at Christmas from the people on his route. In the winter he got hot chocolate, and in the summer, iced tea. Ronnie never knew a stranger. He cared deeply for people without prejudice or judgement.
He is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Carol. His son, Daniel (Lauren) Mears of Hilton Head, SC. His daughter Jennifer (Tom) Kershaw of Long Eaton, England, Two granddaughters, Kaelyn Mears, and Brynhild Kershaw. And two step-grandchildren, Ryan Orcutt and Adison Ray. His sister Geraline (Vic) Simpson and his brother David (Debbie) Mears. Bruce Pasch, father-in-law, and caregiver. Along with many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
He was preceded to heaven by his parents, Isaac, and Hattie.
A memorial service will be held on August 19, 2024 at 2:00pm at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior.
