Isabel Babel, 89, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, with a rosary starting at 10:30am, Monday, August 12, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.
Interment at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
Isabel was born on June 26, 1935, at the family farm in Shields, North Dakota to Philip and Teresa (Zimmerman) Ehli. She attended school in Timmer and Bismarck.
She married the love of her life, Otto Babel on August 28, 1953, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bismarck. Her love of home making was second only to her dedication to Otto and their children. She was a devoted army wife. The family traveled extensively across the United States and Europe during Otto’s Military career. Otto passed away on January 5, 1999.
Isabel is survived by her son, David Babel (partner Jane), Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; daughter, Judy Payne; son-in-law, Wade Payne, Greenville, Wisconsin; and her grandchildren Dustin, Connor, Ally (Jake), Patrick, Sherri; great-grandchildren, Destiny, Maya, Kala, Aris, Izabella; sister, Alice Davis, Minneapolis; and many nieces and nephews.
