Isabel Henriqueta Fontes

Isabel Henriqueta Fontes (Keta), 93, died peacefully on December 31, 2025 surrounded by family. Born July 4, 1932, in Cova Figueira, Fogo, Cabo Verde, she was predeceased by her parents, Gregorio Lino Fontes and Faustina Fonseca Fontes and husband Jose Fontes (Santinho). Isabel was known for her strength, compassion, and dedication to family.
Isabel (Keta) was responsible and caring from a young age. These traits became even stronger over time. As a parent, partner, friend, and community member, she was consistently reliable, loving, and generous.
Family was the center of Isabel's world. She took great pride in caring for loved ones and creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and tradition. Holidays, family gatherings, and everyday moments made special through Isabel's presence, cooking, storytelling, and genuine interest in the lives of others.
Isabel (Keta) was known for her strong work ethic, courage and perseverance. Through challenges and triumphs alike, she faced life with grace and resilience, always doing the best possible for those depending on her. Her life was a true example of quiet strength and selfless love.
Those who knew Isabel (Keta) will remember her for her kindness, wisdom, and ability to listen without judgment. She had a way of making people feel seen and valued, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.
Isabel (Keta) is survived by her children-Jose Fontes (Tchale), Fatima Veiga (Kina), Maria Fontes (Luluxa), Nair Fontes (Santinha)-her grandchildren, Adilson, Elisa, Jackline, Chris, Christina, Charlenne, Junior, Darlene, Elson, Eliana and great-grandchildren, Adylen, Zoey, Mina Rosa, Alyn, Tristan, Ayla, Trevor, Masai, Kario, and Isabella. Her love will remain with them always.
Though words cannot fully express the loss felt, Isabel's legacy lives on through the lives touched, the lessons shared, and the love given so freely. She will be missed deeply, remembered lovingly, and cherished forever.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, January 8th, from 5:00 – 9:00 PM in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main St. (RT. 28), Randolph. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 9th, at 10:30 AM in St. Bernadette Church, 1031 N Main St, Randolph. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Randolph.
