Rev. Isaiah Harrison Mayrant Sr.

Rev. Isaiah Harrison Mayrant Sr. departed this terrestrial Earth to the celestial spirit world on March 23, 2022. He was born on October 13, 1941 in Williamsburg County, Kingstree, South Carolina to the late Rev. George and Mrs. Annie (Brockington) Mayrant.
Rev. Isaiah H. Mayrant Sr. was united in holy matrimony to Viola Summers on August 6, 1966 and to this union two sons were born: Isaiah H. Mayrant Jr. and Andrew V. Mayrant.
Rev. Isaiah H. Mayrant Sr. had seven siblings, including Robert Mayrant Sr., Ella Oglesby and Annie Lee Mayrant. He was preceded in death by his sisters Lillie Bell Cato and Leola Pressley, and brothers George Bubba Mayrant and Benjamin Mayrant.
Rev. Mayrant graduated from Dickerson High School in Jersey City. He worked as a custodial worker at Rutgers University. Rev. Mayrant worked at Port Jersey as a member of the Teamsters Union. He retired from Thirteenth Avenue Street School as a maintenance worker. Rev. Mayrant served as Assistant Pastor under Pastors David Watt, Elder Cobb, Dr. Adams of Adams Memorial C.O.G.I.C., Auxiliary Bishop Walter Gorham of Zion Upshaw Temple C.O.G.I.C. and Mother Ruth Simmons and John Simmons of Abiding Faith. Also, Elder Robert Shaw and Pastor Delores Johnson of Prayer Life Ministries C.O.G.I.C. in Greensboro, NC. He later pastored his own church (Books of the Bible Holiness Church International Ministries) in Asheboro, NC.
Rev. Mayrant will be missed by niece and nephew Yvonne Jones and Tucson Jones Sr., their daughter Jasmine and Roger Saxton whose wedding he officiated; also his niece Sharon Rene Summers whom he gave away in matrimony; and a whole host of other relatives.
