Ismael Castro Prez, conocido cariosamente como To Mayo, El Chef y Apa, fue recibido en los amorosos brazos de Dios el 6 de marzo de 2024, a la edad de 75 aos. Nacido en San Luis Potos, Mxico, el 28 de julio de 1948, Ismael fue un hombre conocido por su espritu humilde, naturaleza amorosa y servicio dedicado a su familia, fe y comunidad.
A lo largo de su vida, Ismael nutri muchos corazones en su papel de esposo devoto, padre, dicono y chef ejecutivo. Su dedicacin se reflej en su larga carrera en el restaurante Cappuccino de Dallas Texas, donde trabaj como chef ejecutivo hasta su jubilacin en 2009. Conocido como El Chef por sus colegas, su pasin por la cocina se extenda ms all del mbito profesional al calor de su hogar. Senta un gran placer creando platos que alegraban a su familia y amigos. Este amor por la cocina complementaba su espritu bondadoso, testimonio de su fe cristiana que le guio y fortaleci durante toda su vida.
Ismael fue un faro de esperanza y gua para su comunidad, sirviendo como co-pastor en sus primeros das, y ms tarde como ministro de la juventud y dicono. Su viaje espiritual se hizo eco de las enseanzas de Cristo en Mateo 20:26-28, "...el que quiera llegar a ser grande entre vosotros que sea vuestro servidor, y el que quiera ser el primero que sea vuestro esclavo - como el Hijo del Hombre no ha venido a ser servido, sino a servir, y a dar su vida en rescate por muchos". Este versculo encarnaba verdaderamente la naturaleza humilde y de corazn servicial de Ismael.
A Ismael le sobreviven su amada esposa, Mara del Carmen Prez Rodrguez; sus hijos, Nohem Aranda, Vernica Ramrez, Ismael Prez Jr, Esaul Prez, Saray Mendoza, y Mara Ramrez; 14 nietos y 13 bisnietos y sus hermanos, Jess Prez Castro y Miguel Perez Castro. Le preceden en la muerte su padre, Ismael Prez Garca; su madre, Juana Castro Cordero; y sus hermanos, Anastacio Prez Castro y Celia Prez Castro.
El amor enrgico de Ismael por su familia y su fe ser siempre recordado y apreciado por todos los que lo conocieron. Ismael Castro Perez, known affectionately as Tio Mayo, El Chef, and Apa, was received into the loving arms of God on March 6, 2024, at the age of 75. Born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, on July 28, 1948, Ismael was a man known for his humble spirit, loving nature, and dedicated service to his family, faith, and community.
In his lifetime, Ismael nurtured many hearts in his roles as a devoted husband, father, deacon, and executive chef. His dedication was reflected in his long-standing career at Cappuccino Restaurant in Dallas Texas where he served as an Executive Chef until his retirement in 2009. Known as El Chef by his colleagues, his passion for cooking extended beyond the professional sphere into the warmth of his home. He took great pleasure in creating dishes that brought joy to his family and friends. This love for cooking complimented his nurturing spirit, a testament to his Christian faith which guided and strengthened him throughout his life.
Ismael was a beacon of hope and guidance for his community, serving as a co-pastor in his early days, and later as a youth minister and deacon. His spiritual journey echoed the teachings of Christ in Matthew 20:26-28,...whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave - just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." This verse truly embodied Ismael's humble and servant-hearted nature.
Ismael is survived by his loving wife, Maria del Carmen Perez Rodriguez; his children, Nohemi Aranda, Veronica Ramirez, Ismael Perez Jr, Esaul Perez, Saray Mendoza, and Maria Ramirez; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and his brothers, Jesus Perez Castro and Miguel Perez Castro. He is preceded in death by his father, Ismael Perez Garcia; his mother, Juana Castro Cordero; and his siblings, Anastacio Perez Castro and Celia Perez Castro.
Ismael's spirited love for his family and faith will be forever remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
