Ivan Lee Arnold Jr. was born on October 5, 1993 at 12:24pm in Martinsburg, WV to the proud parents of Theresa Elizabeth Lake and Ivan Lee Arnold Sr.
At a young age, he was very active always exploring and trying to figure out how things worked, tearing them apart just to peek inside.
At 14 months old, Ivan Lee's journey of a courageous and inspiring young boy began. He was diagnosed with cancer with the life expectancy of 5 years.
He was a fighter and a survivor at such a young age. His life's journey left him with outward and inward scars but he still tried to live a normal life despite it.
He loved to ride dirt bikes, four-wheelers, and beefed up riding mowers. He loved being with his family, spending time with his cousins and doing "GUY THINGS." There was nothing that he didn't do or try doing. He had no limitations.
He held a special love for his most beloved, faithful, loyal companion, best friend, and fur-daughter, his dog MARY JANE. He didn't go anywhere without her unless he had no choice like being in the hospital. If she had been allowed, she would have been there.
His most favorite thing that he loved to do was being in his canoe floating down the river with his fur-daughter, Mary Jane. He was at peace with nature and loved being outside in God's country.
He touched the lives of so many people; from the people he worked for to the people he met along the way.
He always tried to help someone else - to make them smile and ease the burdens of their lives and to make things simpler for them. He gave the little he had to offer to someone else just to say," Hey, I'm here. I care." He was a generous, kind, and loving young man who thought of others before himself. He always lent a hand when needed. A TRUE HERO!
He endured so much in his life, but he always put a smile on your face, maybe from a joke, or his funny sunglasses, even though he was suffering silently. He didn't like people knowing his business and certainly didn't want to be babied or fussed over or to be treated differently.
The last few years were extremely difficult for him. The effects from the radiation and chemotherapy caught up with him and left him with kidney disease and constant pain. Even though he was angry at times, sad, upset and hated life he still marched on as a good soldier would and continued to fight the good fight. He set a good example and was an inspiration to all of us.
His life was full of good times and bad times. He lived a good life, even though it was cut short. Most people in his life's situation would have grown bitter, given up and become isolated. He had love for many people and was loved by many.
His life's journey should be an inspiration to all who knew him - the ones he crossed paths with and the ones who were close to him. He was a blessing, a miracle, friend, and helper. The courage, perseverance, and endurance is an example to each and every one of us whom IVAN LEE's life touched. He made everyone proud of the young man he was and it should encourage us that no matter what life throws at us or what life's journey sends us on, we can get through it with help from God, family, and friends. He will be greatly missed, but not forgotten. He will live on in our hearts and the wonderful memories we have.
"BE STRONG. TAKE COURAGE. DON'T BE INTIMIDATED. DON'T GIVE THEM A SECOND THOUGHT BECAUSE GOD, YOUR GOD, IS STRIDING AHEAD OF YOU. HE WON'T LET YOU DOWN. HE WON'T LEAVE YOU!"
