SHELBY-Ivy C. Morehead, a native and lifelong resident of Cleveland County, NC, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on July 2, 1953, he lived a life filled with dedication to his family and service to his country.
Having served honorably in the National Guard, Ivy was a man committed to duty and community. His passion for fishing brought him solace and joy throughout his life, often found casting a line into tranquil waters, embracing the serenity of nature.
Ivy was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Morehead; his mother, Sara Hamrick Morehead; and his brothers, Mike Morehead and Stephen Morehead. He leaves behind cherished memories with his loved ones who survive him, including his son, Chad Morehead, and wife Christy of Connelly Springs; his daughter, Wendy Morrow, and husband Larry of Hickory; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who brought him immense pride and happiness. Ivy is also survived by his niece, Cynthia Morehead, and his nephew, Michael Morehead.
Ivy's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Memorial service 2:00PM Tuesday, April 1,2025 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
