Ivy Dewitt “Sonny” Williams, born on November 22, 1933, and raised in Winnsboro, Louisiana, passed away on June 6, 2024.
Sonny proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years, including service during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After military retirement, he worked for the Central AR Veterans Healthcare System for 22 years.
He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Christine Miles, beloved daughter Brooke Williams, his parents Floyd and Lillian Williams, and his sister Martha Williams Murry.
Sonny is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Janet Kresse Williams; his daughter, Jessica Pauley of Maumelle, Arkansas; his son, Chad Williams of North Little Rock, Arkansas; his grandson, Gavin Pauley of St. Charles, Missouri; his great-grandson, Dakota Pauley of St. Charles, Missouri; his sister, Shirley Bradford of West Monroe, Louisiana; his brother, Bennie Williams of El Dorado, Arkansas; and his mother-in-law, Barbara Kresse of Maumelle, Arkansas.
A passionate Arkansas Razorbacks fan, Sonny loved nothing more than cheering on his Hogs. For many years, he traveled to all out-of-state football games in his Red Razorback van with his wife and babies in tow. Annual Orange Beach trips with the family etched memories of laughter and the simple pleasures of life. Known for his quick wit, he always had a humorous saying at the ready. He also had a deep love for cooking and grilling, bringing joy to many gatherings with his culinary skills.
His wife Janet was his amazing caregiver and showed the true meaning of “In Sickness and In Health.” The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the following for their compassionate support:

He was known for his love of family, upbeat personality, and unwavering support for those he held close. His impact on the lives of his family and friends will be remembered with profound gratitude and love.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Monday, June10, 2024 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Funeral to celebrate Sonny’s life will be 1:30 PM, Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Sonny will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His legacy of service, love for family, and infectious humor will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
