John Loyd, (J) Whitmire, 43, passed from this life to be with his Father in Heaven on September 25, 2025. Memorial services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Marlow Baptist Church near Cameron.

J was born on June 10, 1982, in New Braunfels, Texas to Tamara Whitehorse Fuller and John Whitmire. He was predeceased by his mother and a baby sister, Alicia Christine Whitmire.

He is survived by: his father, John Whitmire and stepmother, Stella Whitmire; his beloved sister, Alaina Caitlin Fuller, and stepsister, Mary Katherine Johnson and husband, Dustin; three brothers, Joshua Buren Whitmire and friend, Jelena Jakovljevic, William Alan Whitmire and wife, Melissa, Matthew Scott Whitmire and wife, Deanna; two stepbrothers, James Benjamin Lastly and John Mark Lastly; as well as several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

J attended Baylor University for two years and obtained a Certificate of Petroleum Land Management from the University of Houston. J was a Registered Landman with the American Association of Professional Landmen.

J's career was in the oil and gas business; he was recognized as an expert in mineral title. The last five years J spent in Hobbs New Mexico, running title for Leasing mineral properties, the drilling of oil and gas wells and the due diligence required for client oil companies to purchase mineral properties from other companies.

J had the privilege of working with the youth at Marlow Baptist Church for a season; it was a highlight of his life. J loved young people. He understood heir hearts and their need for truth and Jesus.

J loved the Baylor Bears.
