With great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jacey Denise Smith Loftis, age 49, on December 9, 2025, in Michigan City, Indiana. She was born in Borger, Texas November 9,1976 to Earnest and Sharon Smith.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10 am Saturday, February 7, 2026, in the Minton Memorial Chapel at Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Jacey was a loving mother, wife, aunt, daughter, sister and grandmother who had a kind heart and will be missed terribly. Her greatest joys were the arrival of her first granddaughter, her family and her fur babies. She loved to cook and bake bread for her family as well as long talks with her dad almost daily. She's always loved being in the kitchen, winning multiple awards in 4-H for baking and cooking. She also loved showing livestock in 4-H and has many years of awards and accomplishments. For a time, she touched countless lives as a skilled bartender and food server. She graduated from Frank Phillips in 1998 and enjoyed being a massage therapist for many years. She could do anything she set her mind to. She simply loved helping people. Compassionate, she was a brave advocate for mental health awareness. Fighting fiercely for better mental health care, especially for Veterans, who held a special place in her heart.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Sharon Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Jaime Loftis; daughter, Kirstan; son, Terrance; granddaughter, Zariah; father, Earnest Smith of Fritch; sisters, Neely Smith Moore and husband Casey of Michigan City, Indiana, Carrie Martinez of Borger; niece Mariana Martinez; nephews, Marcos, Daniel and Isaiah and wife Becca Martinez.
