He is also survived by his daughter, Janelle Hensley of East Peoria; 4 grandsons: Justin (Leslie) Hensley, Jeff (Stephanie) Hensley, Jake Blair, and Jon Rassi; and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jill.
Jack graduated from East Peoria Community High School with the Class of 1959 and began his career at Redco, where he worked for several years. He later transitioned to a role in security at Caterpillar, where he remained until his retirement in 2000.
A passionate outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening, Jack was a member of Kennell Lake, where he spent countless hours enjoying nature. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Bears. His playful spirit and ornery sense of humor endeared him to those around him. Above all, Jack loved being a dad and grandpa, roles he embraced with immense joy and pride.
Visitation for Jack will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Gary Deiters Funeral Home & Cremation Services in East Peoria, with a Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital. Online condolences may be left at www.GaryDeitersFH.com.

Jack was in my graduating class of 1959. I wish he would have been able to come to one of our class reunions. There are many of us who would have liked to see him again.

I worked with Jack in the inspection department at East Peoria Caterpillar in 1973. He moved to Caterpillar Security and another work associate Larry Lindsay went to the safety store. Interesting times back then.
