Jack Verlie Cagle, 89, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at The Homeplace and was a former resident of Cedar Ridge. He was born in Guilford County to the Late Verlie Andrew Cagle and Gladys Jane Phillips Cagle.
Jack was a 1955 graduate of Bessemer high School and after military service graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Guilford College. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War. Jack retired as a sales rep for the clothing industry. He was a member of The First Baptist Church of Greensboro on Friendly Avenue and was baptized in 1993. e ser
Jack enjoyed playing golf, following college basketball and easy listening music, including the “Oldies”.
Jack had outlived his family but had many friends including his special friends, Jay Pringle and Phoebe Swing. He was preceded in death by his son, Kurt Damon Cagle; his parents and siblings, Doris Nell Barker, Walter C. Cagle and Linda Gail Cagle.
Jack will be buried with military honors at the Andersonville National Cemetery, located in Andersonville, Georgia, where his son was laid to rest in 2022.
