Jack Kenneth Carlile, 90, of Lubbock, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, born November 28, 1935 passed away on February 1, 2026. Jack attended school at Frenship School in Wolfforth graduating from High School in 1954. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 until his honorable discharge in 1957. In October of 1957, Jack went to work for the Lubbock Fire Department. He promoted through the ranks and retired as District Chief in December of 1994 with 38 years of service to the Lubbock community. On his off days from the fire station, he built custom homes. Jack was also quite a guitar player and even recorded two albums. One of his greatest joys was performing with various bands all across the Lubbock area. Jack even had one of his songs played on KRBL radio.

In 1960 Jack married Carolyn Jan Martin of Silverton, Texas. They have two children, Kimberly Gribben (Tony) and Mark Carlile (Amy). Jack was G-daddy to six grandchildren. Katy Faulkner (Clint), Haley Back (Andrew), Emily Stafford (Kyle), Bryce Carlile, Mason Carlile (Linsie) and Sarah Carlile. He also has four great grandsons, Owen Faulkner, Austin Faulkner, Max Stafford and Charlie Stafford, born the day after his passing.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents Albert & Jimmie Carlile, brothers James, Elton and Cecil and his wife Carolyn.

Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 5:30-7:00 PM on February 11, 2026 at Sanders Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 2:00 PM on February 12, 2026 at Sanders Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will immediately follow at Resthaven Memorial Park 5740 19th St.
