Jack Clements

Jack Clements, 85, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 30, 2023.
He was born in Hazlehurst, Georgia and son of the late Norman & Bessie Brantley Clements. After high school graduation, Jack enlisted in the U.S. Navy on February 27, 1956 and served 2 years. He began his career with Eastern Airlines in 1959 and retired in 1991. Jack loved to participate in many sports including tennis, golf, snow skiing, and water skiing. He played tennis for many years at Boone Park and loved to walk the neighborhood every day.
Preceded in death by his parents and surviving family include 2 daughters: Renee & Steve Markham and Stephanie & Allan Congrave and their mother, Jo Clements Woody; 3 grandchildren: Chelsea Quillian (Anthony), Dylan Markham (Sarah) and Ryan Wolfe (Paige); 5 great grandchildren: Reina, Kaelem, Camden, Gabriel, Bellamy and expecting boy number 6 in February 2024; 2 sisters: Linda Dechaine and Carolyn Gavin (Walt).
Graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road with U.S. Navy Military Honors. We will assemble in procession lane #1 at the cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Thursday at Peeples Funeral Home, 14165 N. Main Street.
