His Legacy Jack Elmer Cowper, 86, passed away February 12, 2024. He was born on August 11, 1937, in Port Huron, Michigan to Elmer Cowper and Ina (Caryl) Cowper. Jack married the love of his life Mary (McCarthy) Cowper, on August 8, 1956, in Angola, Indiana. Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954-1957. After his military service he worked as a carpenter for most of his career. He was a "jack of all trades", he could fix anything, from plumbing to electrical. Jack also had many home remedies, earning him the nickname "Dr. Jack". Jack was active with the D.A.V. and Carpenter's Union. He loved working in his yard and being on his riding lawnmower. Jack and Mary enjoyed traveling together, whether it be in their camper or going all the way to Australia and Germany. Jack was larger than life and a great storyteller, always gathering his family around for one of his many tales. Jack and Mary were very active at Shalom Lutheran Church, working as greeters and volunteers. Jack was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
His Family Jack will be missed by his children, Michael Cowper, Mark Cowper, Martin Cowper, Marvin (Carla) Cowper, Matthew (Gemma) Cowper; grandchildren, Tabbatha (Marc) Witt, Matthew Kane (Jamie) Cowper, Cinamon Didomenico, Jack Cowper, Marcus (Jessica) Cowper, Austen Cowper, Daniel Cowper, Raymond Cowper; 8 great grandchildren.
