Flanner Buchanan - Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters)Jack Don Cox Jr., 52, of North Carolina, formerly of Lapel, Indiana, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025. Born on December 30, 1972, in Anderson, Jack grew up with a big, close-knit family who loved him deeply.
Jack had a kind heart, a quiet sense of humor, and a gentle way about him that made people feel comfortable and cared for. He was the type of person who would lend a hand without being asked and never expected anything in return. His family will always remember his warm smile, his loyalty, and the way he showed up when it mattered most.
Jack shared a special bond with his dog, Bear, who meant the world to him. Their companionship brought him great comfort, joy, and unconditional love.
A graveside service to honor Jack’s life will be held on Saturday, November 29, at 1:00 PM at Hamilton Memorial Park, 4180 Westfield Road, Westfield, IN 46062.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Don Cox Sr. and Patricia A. Cox; his brother, Tracy A. Cox; and his nephew, Austin M. Robinson, and great-nephew Miles Cox.
He leaves behind his five sisters: Melinda (Ken) Summay, Gayle Cox, Penny (John) Franks, Carey (Mark) Todd, and Jo Ann Cox, who will forever cherish the memories, laughter, and moments they shared with him. Nieces and nephews include Justin, Skye, and Rachel (Nick) Summay; Kayla, Kim, and Shelby Cox; Brandi, Dakota, and Xavior Gibbons; Tasha Smith and Logan Franks; and Audrey Robinson. Jack also held a special place in his heart for Zach and Taylor, whom he loved and thought of as his own children.
Jack’s passing leaves a space in the hearts of those who loved him, but his memory will continue to bring comfort and strength in the days ahead.
For those wishing to honor Jack’s memory, the family welcomes flowers or donations to a local food pantry, a cause that reflects Jack’s generous spirit and desire to help others.
