Jack R. Decker, age 83 of Piqua, Ohio formerly of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully, comforted by the love of his family, on February 2, 2026. He was born January 24, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio. The son of the late Guy and Marian Decker.

Jack was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He worked as a machinist for Dana Corporation for 22 years prior to their closing. He then spent 22 additional years with the University of Toledo in the Custodial Department. Jack loved his family dearly, especially his wife of over 61 years. He will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Decker.

Jack is survived by his wife, Susan "Suzi" Decker; son, Alan "Al" (Jennifer) Decker; grandchildren, Angela (Christopher) Dill, Morgan (Tyler) Burgert, and Ally (Steven) Diem and great grandchild Henry Burgert; as well as numerous family members and friends, especially his best friend from childhood, Danny Simrell.

Anyone who ever met Jack, knew his love of a good conversation. He never met a stranger and made friends everywhere he went. He desired to make people smile / laugh and leave a positive impression. Jack loved athletics; participating in and discussing them. He excelled in wrestling, boxing, track & field and football, the latter garnering All City awards as well as a partial scholarship to the University of Wisconsin. Later in life he enjoyed softball and bowling. He won many bowling tournaments and finally recorded his first 300 game. Jack was noted to know players, stats and trivia regarding most sports. He was able to speak intelligently to almost everyone regarding their favorite sport. He was comfortable around everyone.

A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
