Jack Earl Derrah, 80, passed away on April 3, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Chanyapat, his wife of 15 years. He is survived by his younger sister Jill and brother Glenn.
He started his working life at U. S. Motors in Milford, CT in the early '60's, then joined the Air Force in 1965, and was stationed at a radar site in Arizona. After leaving the service he worked as a refrigeration mechanic, and then worked for U.P.S. as a truck driver, eventually becoming a self-employed, independent trucker for many years. He finished his driving career behind the wheel of a school bus for 5 years, where he made many friends of children and their parents.
Through the course of his life, he enjoyed owning several horses, sailboats, motorcycles, sports cars, and a personal airplane. He also owned and operated several pieces of heavy equipment and would often help his neighbour's when they needed snow plowing or excavation work.
