Funeral services for Jack Douglas Downs will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at City On A Hill Pentecostal Church in Minden, Louisiana with military rites. Bro. Andy Wilson and Bro. Gerald Trammel will be officiating.
Jack was born May 26, 1942, in Cotton Valley, Louisiana and went to be with the Lord March 9, 2025, in Minden, Louisiana. He was a Pvt 1st Class E-3 and served in the 3rd Batallion 156th Infantry in the United States Army. After returning home he was employed with GE and retired after 30 years of service
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Ora Downs of Cotton Valley and one son, Jacob Benson Downs.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa Downs of Minden; sons, Robert and Reginia Downs of Minden, Paul and Tammy Kaye Downs of Utah, Benjamin Downs of Florida, Levi Downs of Minden and Joshua Downs of Minden; daughters, Tammora Downs of Minden, Chariety and Jaye Stanfield of Georgia, and Paula Downs of Minden; sister, Joyce Dick of Homer; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wounded Warriors Assoc. or the USO.
