Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Jack Hatch Olsen, 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 22, 2024 in Brigham City, Utah. He was born on Wednesday, December 16, 1931 in Logan, Utah, a son of Derwood Dewane and Grace Juanita Hatch Olsen. He graduated from South High School in 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He married the sexy red head Pauline Helms on Saturday, December 19, 1981 in Brigham City, Utah. They were later sealed in the Logan Temple on May 6, 1983. He was a steadfast member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many capacities. Jack had served as the Mayor of Corinne from 1992-1996 and enjoyed teaching art at the Boys and Girls Club in Brigham City. He loved woodworking, flying and had his pilot license and owned his own plane. He also enjoyed painting and drawing. His favorite past time was fishing, but especially in Alaska. Surviving is his wife, Pauline; four children: David Olsen; Helen Olsen; Scott (Nancy) Olsen; Eric (Zenny) Olsen; chosen son and daughter, Kurt and Larissa Fertig; 21 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren and one brother, Evan Quain Olsen and sister-in-law, Sharon Olsen Christensen. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Jacob LeGrande Bollschweiler, daughter, Susan Orencole, granddaughter, Rachael King, brothers, Derwood Paul Olsen, Von Roy Olsen, sister Derita Trappett, brother-in-law, Jay Trappett and sister-in-law, Karin Olsen. The family would like to thank CNS Hospice, especially nurses Fyre and Jessie. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 10:00 am at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 E 200 S., Brigham City, Utah. Family will greet friends on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and on Friday from 9:15 to 9:45 am. Interment will be in the Paradise Cemetery in Paradise, Utah, where military honors will be accorded by the Box Elder County Veterans Honor Guard. Send condolences to www.gfc-utah.com
