Jack B. Rader, Sr. 99 of Reeders, Pennsylvania died Wednesday May 11, 2022, peacefully at home. He passed just days before his 100 th birthday. He was the loving husband of Marjorie(Deibert) Rader, to whom he was married for 71 years.
Born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Harold and Anna (Entler) Rader. Jack, Sr. was a veteran of World War II; he served our country with honor as part of the United StatesArmy. In 1944, he graduated from Lehigh University with an engineering degree. After the war, his father Harold Rader, purchased the property in the Poconos which became Mountain Springs Lake Resort. Jack had previously discovered this property on a hike he took when he was young and fell in love with the lake. He oversaw the development of the family business since the beginning. He lived on the property for the remainder of his life, raising his family there. Not only was the resort a bustling place, but Jack and Marjorie always had plenty of food and space for extra people at their dinner table. Along with his lifelong dedication to his family's resort, Jack enjoyed being surrounded by his friends and family sharing stories and laughter. He was a hardworking, dedicated, and a fair man who will be missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. Mr. Rader passed his business to his children and the resort remains in the family to this day.
Jack Rader, Sr. is survived by his wife, and three children: Jack Rader, Jr. and his wife, Susan; Robin Rader; and Bill Rader and his wife, Kelly. He was preceded in death by his daughter Jill.He also is survived by seven grandchildren: Jack Rader, III and his wife, Ashley; Benjamin Rader and his wife, Sonja; Elisabeth Rader; Abigail (Rader) Cleveland and her husband, Rob; Bill D. Rader and his wife, Danielle; Amy (Rader) Gaus and her husband, Tommy; and Megan Rader. Jack, Sr. was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Wolfgang, Adler, Grace, Hendrick, Jack IV, Mya, and Quinn.
The family will hold a private celebration of Jack's life at a future date.

My sincere sympathy for the entire Rader family. I will keep your family in my prayers. I always enjoyed spending time with Jack and Marge just sitting on the front porch talking. Jack was such a humble man and Gus always talked very fondly of him.
