Independence, Missouri - Jack Werner Schwieterman, born May 15, 1926, to Leo Schwieterman and Aurelia (Betty) Werner in Jefferson City, Missouri, passed peacefully at his home in Independence, March 10, 2026, surrounded by family. Jack enlisted in the US Navy at 17 years of age and was a World War II veteran. He attended Westminster College and graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Public Administration. Jack married Virginia Condit in 1951. They raised their family together for 65 years until her passing in 2016. Jack's career included serving in multiple administrative positions in Missouri State and Federal government. He was an 80-year member of American Legion Post 5, Jefferson City, Knights of Columbus and Mizzou Alumni Association. He is survived by seven children, Edward (Lily) Schwieterman, Mary Thomas, Betty Schwieterman, Julie (Kris) McMenamy, Carol (Kevin) Snodgrass, Margaret (Kevin) Adams, and Laura (Scott) Black; ten lovely grandchildren, and ten sweet great grandchildren. Private family services to be held at St. Mark's Catholic Church of Independence.

Betty I knew you forever but I your dad when I sold your family home on Rockhill Road. He was a kick for sure. But I don´t have to tell you that. He almost made it to 100! I´m so sorry for your loss.
