Jack Richard Shaffer Jr.

Jack R. Shaffer Jr., (76) passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Toledo Hospital. He was born on December 6, 1949 to Jack R. and Phyllis Lorraine (Miller) Shaffer Sr. He later went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force. Following his honorable discharge, he married Luella Mae Hall on November 11, 1978 in Hudson, MI. Jack and Luella raised 5 children and celebrated over 31 years of marriage together, until Luella's passing in 2009.
Jack worked at Ottawa Rubber for 19 years, all the while he also worked as the Property Manager at Twin Maples Mobile Home Park in Bradner for 30 plus years. He enjoyed the outdoors; landscaping, mowing and working around the mobile home park. He also enjoyed collecting diecast cars: however, it was his grandchildren, be it sightseeing or just spending time with them that remained his greatest joy. His grandkids were his life and spending as much time with them remained his priority.
Left to cherish Jack's memory are his children: Laurie (Shawn) Porter of Bradner, Rodney (Tammy) Wagner of Hudson, MI, and Ben Shaffer of Jackson, MI, 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Sisters: Linda Deneka of FL, Carol Snyder of Jackson, MI, brothers: Charles Bonner of Jackson, MI and Lewis Bonner of KY. In addition to his wife, Luella, he was preceded in death by his parents, son, Chad Wagner, and daughter, Kristine Anderson.
Family and friends will be received 10 a.m.-12 p.m., with a funeral service at 12 noon, Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home 4094 State Route 105 Pemberville, OH 43450. Jack will be laid to rest next to Luella following the funeral service at Bradner Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Ron Merritt.
