ALEXANDRIA, IN – Jack D. Street, 88, entered peace and eternal rest on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette following an extended illness.
He was born on June 18, 1937, in Alexandria to Ernest and Freida Street and was a lifetime Alexandria resident. Anyone who knew Jack was touched by his kind, quiet, and humble nature. He spent his adult life working as a union carpenter and was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Muncie Local. He always worked very hard and was meticulous in his work.
He was assisted on many projects by his wife, Marlene, to whom he was married for 62 years. They enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles together, playing cards, and riding horses. He and Marlene were humble servants of the Lord and enjoyed helping with various roles at the Alexandria First Christian Church. You could usually find them helping quietly in the background.
He especially enjoyed time with his family and in later years, his grandkids and great grandkids. Recently, seeing Brice and Grace were among the highlights of his days. His family always enjoyed his quiet sense of humor and sweet personality.
