Easton - Jackalene "Jackie" Bradley, 84, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024, at her home. She was born January 10, 1940, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Robert and Kathleen (Stitham) Blanchard.
Jackie grew up in Mars Hill helping on her father's turkey farm and graduated from A.C.I. in 1958. After high school Jackie worked at Farm Credit in Presque Isle. She married Sidney Bradley on July 1, 1961, and they moved to the River de Chute in Easton where they farmed potatoes with Sid's brother, Paul and later nephew, John and son, Todd. Once the three children were older, Jackie served as Easton's town clerk and was later hired as Easton's Town Manager, in a job she held for twenty-five years.
Jackie loved serving the town members of Easton and in addition to her duties as town manager, was a member of the Maine Municipal Association, and was a longtime member of the Mars Hill United Methodist Church as well as the United Methodist Women.
Jackie and Sid loved their friends and family and all the wonderful times spent together.
She will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother, and for her hard work and dedication to her family and community.
She is survived by her three children, Todd Bradley and his wife, Connie, Ellen Trask and her husband, Norm, Brent Bradley and his wife Tina, all of Easton, six grandchildren, Tyler, Megan, Brad, Syd, Amber, Blake and their spouses, as well as fourteen great-grandchildren. Jackie also leaves behind three siblings, Gaye Cronkite of Easton, Robert Blanchard and his wife, Dale of Easton, Bonnie Shibles of Portland, several nieces and nephews, as well as her special card playing friends in Mars Hill.
In addition to her parents, Jackie was predeceased by her husband Sidney, a brother-in-law, Paul Bradley and his wife Edith, a sister-in-law, Reta Flewelling and her husband Floyd, brothers-in-law, Darrell Shibles and Everett Cronkite, her father-in-law, John Bradley and his first wife Beryl and second wife Winnie, and two nephews, Brian Blanchard and Roy Oscar Flewelling
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours, 1:00-3:00 PM Friday, August 2, 2024, at the Mars Hill United Methodist Church, where a service will be conducted at 3:00 PM, with Pastor Sue Brown and the Rev. Mary Miller officiating. The family asks that you please join them for a reception at Jackies' house located at 79 Graham Road, Easton, immediately following the service. A private committal service will take place at Estes Park Cemetery, at a later date.
