Jackie Hamm was born on March 28, 1954 in Dallas, Texas to Johnnie and Freddie Joan (Jones) Hamm. He married Pamela Denise Strawn on October 23, 1981 in Greenville, Texas. Jackie was a skilled welder at Burney Valve in Sulphur Springs, Tx. After years of hard work under the hood, Jackie retired to spend more time in his own shop and tending to his cows.
For Jackie, the best days were spent outdoors or working with his hands. He was a “simple man” to the truest and most honorable sense, finding deep contentment in the rhythm of country life. Jackie was an avid hunter and fisherman. Jackie took pride in tending to his cows and nurturing his garden, enjoying the rewards of a long days work under the sun. While he enjoyed the peace of being home, his greatest highlights were family vacations to Port Aransas where he would fish, laugh, and create memories with his loved ones. Whether he was repairing equipment or starting a new project, he was his happiest tinkering and creating. Jackie had a special place in his heart for his cats.
Jackie’s steady presence, his calloused hands, and his quiet kindness will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela; his daughter, Leslie Whitson (Adam), sons, Michael Hoy (Melissa), Kacey Hamm (Natasha). Special son, Jonathan Luckey (Regina). Grandchildren, Molly Wallace (Dustin), Preslie Hoy, Bradyn Hamm, Emmalie Hamm, Hayden Hoy, Ryker Hoy, Jonathan Hamm. Sister Carole Daniel (Randal), Niece’s Jacque Eshelman (Daniel) and Kim Martin, and a nephew, Kevin Hamm.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Luckey, Bradyn Hamm, Dusty Hines, Eduardo Ramirez, Daniel Eshelman, and Blake Eshelman.
